Popular Post benfica_77 Posted August 11, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 11, 2020 So this is from a quarter box I ordered in early 2018. It has a description by @El PresidenteI will never forget it said in the description that they were clearance and these Epi #2's are like kissing your sister. Well I don't have a sister and to this day I still don't fully understand what he meant. I pondered it while smoking this cigar and I guess I will never know what Philosopher Prez meant maybe I need to drink some Gin and Tonics next time to get it. The cigar had a tight draw during pre-light. I used the perfectdraw to loosen her up which helped. Pre-draw I got hay and tobacco but nothing too overwhelming. This is the 4th of the 6 cigars and I have been generally underwhelmed. They have been bland so my expectations were low. 1/3 - Wow! Cream cream and more cream! Definitely medium-bodied and this one packed flavour. Very happy with the surprise of it not being bland like the other. 2/3 - More cream with touches of cedar and a couple lashings of salt on occasion. Fairly solid construction with ok burn line. Not razor sharp but solid. I noticed a fairly white ash on the cigar, which is reminiscent of Non-Cubans typically i find cubans to have a greyer ash. 3/3 - More of the same but that's not a bad thing. Don't really expect transitions but thoroughly enjoying it. I smoked it too quickly because I was enjoying it and it got much hotter earlier than normal. It was my fault. So it ended a bit quicker than usual. Overall I would give it a solid 92. My takeaway from this experience is you need a larger sample size of more than 1-2 cigars to make a judgement on a Marca or cigar. I'm glad I didn't give up on this Marca. I did pick up recently a 10 count box of the San Juan's hoping to get more of this cream. Also my second takeaway is that sometimes cigars get better with time it took this one 3 years to get it's mojo. Cheers and thanks for reading! 5
