MrBirdman Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 This is my first new thread as a relatively new member who has really come to appreciate FOH. Glad this is here My questions concerns present production in Cuba during COVID - @Elpresidente has stated that only 1/3 to 1/2 normally quantities are leaving the island. Assuming this is effecting all markets, I’m curious first whether actual production has slowed down as well, either due to reflect diminished export capacity or COVID-related precautions? Second, if it is diminished, would the added aging for the tobacco be meaningful when cigars are actually rolled (my suspicion is no, unless this persists for more than another year)? Also, which production if any is being prioritized? if production is the same, will we see a flood of boxes when lanes reopen? Or will they find other ways to ship them by then? I know Cuba is desperate for dollars right now Interested to hear remarks and speculation from you all!

A few months ageing is a non factor 25 new cases of Covid in Havana over the past few days is a possible concern to opening up. For the shipping lanes to open, France and London flights need to start asap. Any tightening of restrictions in either of those countries will be a major issue. 2
