Popular Post NicPac Posted August 1, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 1, 2020 FOH Custom - B52 Bomber Review I couldn’t resist the urge to break into my stash of FOH customs so I figured I’d try my hand at posting a review. So here goes nothing! Construction is superb. No soft spots and I can feel the weight of the cigar in my hand. The wrapper has a nice sheen to it. It’s smells incredible. Hard to describe but it’s the smell I think of when I think great Cuban tabbaco. Maybe sweet wood and sweet barnyard. The pre-light draw is perfect. Just the right amount of resistance for me. I’m getting dry cedar and a touch of vanilla. First third - It starts off with some predominantly cedar notes with a pleasant spice through the retrohale. Right away it’s producing nice thick smoke. I am pairing this cigar with a glass of ice water. The spice quickly fades into the background and the cedar notes begin to be mixed with salted pistachios. As I approach the end of the first third I am starting to get a sweet note mixed in with the wood. Second third - The sweet notes quickly faded and are now replaced with leather and wood, but a different type of wood. The transition in flavors is distinct. Part way though the second third the leather fades and is replaced with salty roasted nuts. The wood is still there but more on the backend. The salt is very present on my pallet between draws. I’ve gotten some hints of cream as well. Final third - Similar notes as the second third. I’m getting hints of dark chocolate that are trying to come forward but I think because of the youth of the cigar they just haven’t developed yet. Final thoughts - All and all a very good smoke. I smoked it to the nub. It showed its youth a bit throughout the cigar, mostly in the final third. Smoking time was right about 2 hours. The cigar stayed right around medium body or slightly under the entire time. I look forward to seeing how they develop once they have sometime down. I will revisit this cigar in a years time. 11
