Popular Post teamrandr Posted July 11, 2020 Popular Post Posted July 11, 2020 Somehow this oldie took a beat down despite the tubo. This is the most beat up looking stick I have ever smoked let alone review. Cold aroma is pleasant with a cocoa barnyard tobacco going on. Let's give it a light for the FOH crew. 1/3 Draw is just a tad open for my liking. Initial flavors are nice and deep. Cocoa and robust coffe mixed with Havana tobacco. Despite the draw being a tad open the smoke so far is quite nice. Medium body and robust flavor. Retrohale highlights the coffe character. 2/3 Hard to believe how good this is given the shape it was in. Nice tobacco/coffee/cocoa flavor here. Halfway The draw is still too open. I am surprised at how mild the smoke is despite all that. By mild I mean no of putting flavors that usually come with open draws. There is a beautiful mocha emerging. These are short wonders. Final 3rd It builds in body as it goes. True to its Bolivar roots it has been a nice robust smoke the whole way. Not at all complex. So full if life though at 15 years old. Indeed a good sign for aged Bolivar of any vitola. This cigar has held a nice firm ash throughout. This format is quite nice. I wish that more of this stature would be available. A good skinny short panatela. 95 Could only mark down the open draw. To which the cigar outperformed my expectations. The flavors were not complex and there was no flavor progression. Perfect for that 40 minute smoke. 11
leafdream54 Posted July 11, 2020 Posted July 11, 2020 Excellent review! I've wondered how these cigars would age and that is great news. I have box of MSU FEB 19 that will going down for a long nap.
