Popular Post Silverstix Posted June 22, 2020 Popular Post Posted June 22, 2020 Have had these singles in my possession for 2 years now, have not tried one until now for two reasons: time, and age. It’s not easy to find 2+ hours for a smoke, and I also thought that I would be doing a disservice by smoking this cigar without more age on it. I decided this weekend I was gonna go for it. I carved out time on Saturday night and dove right in. A sweet leather aroma at cold. Construction looks excellent. Clip the cap, draw is money. Here we go. Starts off mild-medium in body and strength but full flavored (something I consider a trademark of Cuban cigars). Has the sweet leathery spice that is so common with Partagas. The first 1/3 was typical Partagas and actually reminded me very much of the Shorts I have from a 2013 box. Great start. Getting into the 2/3 saw a significant depth to the smoke.....hard to describe, but the flavors got much more pronounced - savory, creamy, sweet - pretty complex. I’ve read reviews that say almond comes on in the middle of the cigar and I would certainly agree with that note. Medium bodied, still not much strength. The 3/3 saw a lot more of the Partagas leather and spice, less of the sweetness, but still very smooth. Smoked this well past the band without any issues. Medium bodied and medium strength. The burn was great. The draw was great. This was an excellent cigar. I think it could get better, but it was still really enjoyable. Effortless to smoke and retrohale. Total smoke time: 2:05 Overall: 90-91/100 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 7
