Popular Post Akela3rd Posted June 21, 2020 Popular Post Posted June 21, 2020 This was going to be a Punch Punch review from the fireside last night, as is the norm for me but the thing was such a tentpeg I gave up on it after a couple of minutes - the only really bad one I've ever had. Went the reliable Bolivar No1 route in the end, but clearly that was last week's theme... So today another reliable favourite - Party Shorts - from a cabinet I've not had a problem with after 40 or so of 'em. Slight sheen, well made, smells slightly of sweetened mocha. A good draw and it's off to a flying start with a lovely deep caramel note behind what reminds me of overbaked bread. Ever so slightly burnt but in a good way. The burn is perfect all the way through and the flavour consistent, neither building nor diminishing and only slightly varying. A suggestion of coffee here and there but always with that caramel core. I'm a fan of the Partagas Aristocrats, more bitter with a molasses sweetness, but they can be inconsistent - these are just perfect every time it seems. Not a lot more to say - a very pleasant 35 minutes or so sat in the garden with a lovely little cigar. That's why everybody, but everybody, has some somewhere I'm sure. 8/10 every single time. MigsG Posted June 21, 2020 Posted June 21, 2020 Short and sweet review. Haven’t touched one in months but I always keep a few around.
