Popular Post GavLew79 Posted June 20, 2020 Popular Post Posted June 20, 2020 Punch cut. Soft flame to light. Opening...Woody, creamy, slight sweet hint. Accompanied by the excellent value for money Portuguese red blend "Porta 6", plus the Mortlach 15 year old 6-Kingdoms (Diageo's Game of Thrones series final release) and the best decade of music ever...the '80s. First third is going very well. The tangerine caramel of the Mortlach 15 gives a nice boost to the woody notes. "Papa don't preach, I'm in trouble; deep" It's mainly woody notes with an elusive spice dominating the first third. I can't work out whether it's nutmeg, cinnamon,... "I come from a land down under..." ??? The draw is a little tight so I'm swapping the punch for a good clip with my trusty Palio...ah, that's better. Smoke volume is up and my jaw muscles can rest a bit... "BORN in the USA, I was..." Still a little tight my jaw gets a workout again... "Gonna take a little time...I wanna know what LOVE IIIIIIIIS!!!" Ok. Admission time... I'm 2 Coronas, 2 G&Ts, and a few wines and Mortlachs in by now. This is my 4th cigar! It's passed bedtime. ? "I'm wanted, DEAD or ALIVE..!!!" ...the accuracy of this review...may be suspect. The cigar continues to provide lovely flavours of woody, creamy, custardy sweetness that builds and builds... OMG..."We didn't start the FIRE..." What a political song with such RESONANCE in today's world still. Billy Joel - I've never listened to your albums in full sir, but I salute you. WHAT A SONG!!! "Every breath you take..." The second third is redolent with the same delicious flavours, only amplified. After the Mortlach the sinewy, resinous wood dominates; after the wine the sweet cream. As a small cigar, I guess evolution isn't really what transpires. And that's fine. This is good to the end. "From one lover to another...a ha..." And to finish...not a hint of harshness. This tobacco is ripe and well fermented. "A love struck Romeo... You can fall for chains of silver, you can fall for chains of gold..." I quite like the chains of gold in the new Qd'O bands. ? I have Coronas from '14 and '16 ageing and some gorgeous ULA '14 Imperiales that everyone says you should not touch for a while...but by God, this new blend of Qd'O is so APPROACHABLE! 92/100 The dog's had enough... he's telling me it's bedtime...goodnight all. "PURPLE RAIN, PURLE RAAAAIIINNN..." ..."Just like the white winged dove..." ..."you got a fast car..." ...party on...so...many...good songs... 7 2
