Popular Post Silverstix Posted June 16, 2020 Popular Post Posted June 16, 2020 This is my first Vigia, I had heard great things but the vitola isn’t really my favorite. I took the plunge on a 3-pack of tubos here around Christmas time, the price was right. These Vigia all have phenomenal wrappers. I mean light coffee colored, oils, thin veins, these are really top of the line wrapper leaf. It has a pretty strong “musty” aroma at cold, and definite sweetness on the cold draw. Takes an extra few seconds to get toasted up, but when it gets going it’s 100mph right out of the gate! Which is nice because this is a short cigar and there isn’t any time to waste!! 1/2 - this cigar is dominated by sweetness. Like salted caramel or kettle corn popcorn. Mild on the strength but surprisingly pretty full bodied, a thick viscous smoke that gives a very full mouthfeel and certainly lets you know it’s there on the retrohale. 2/2 - Getting to the halfway point, the sweetness is fades to a background complimentary note and the profile is turning to a darker coffee, a darker profile overall. Strength ends up just shy of medium for me. Finishes a little on the hot side. Not a single burn issue. Would’ve liked a little more resistance on the draw. Beautiful looking cigar and a very nice experience. The review weekend forced me to open one of these sooner than I wanted to, but I’m glad I did.
