RDB Posted June 2, 2020 Posted June 2, 2020 Sometimes you plan on smoking a particular cigar, and then another one just insistently calls to you. That was the La Fuerza tonight. And because it’s another LGR (also producing great Punch, Monte, PL) here’s another FFF review... This is a consistently good PSP box, and smoking great at two years’ old. Tight draw to start with, but it opened up fine. The aroma of a good SCDLH is pretty much unique. It reminds me of German Xmas cookies: Lebkuchen. Aniseed, ginger, cardamom, nutmeg, vanilla. Also a fruity richness, unsweetened almond paste - an almost chewy body to the smoke. This one showed all these, and held them down to the last third. A warm, exuberant smoke. Good construction, great big ash. A hit, not a miss. Btw I love the small but perfectly formed SCDLH range. A minuto, campana and robusto extra. Family similarity but different characters - and can vary widely. I have a box of La Puntas that will need years to settle down, and knock me for six every time I dip in. 2
