Today is my 7 year old son's birthday. If you have minimal powers of observation you probably already know why this cigar and box in particular is a big gun for me.

Draw is a bit tight so I hit it with the Perfecdraw tool to get it to an acceptable draw. Draw and burn are troublesome throughout. Not bad but not close to good.

Flavors, however, are quite good. A melange of floral wood. Not any one wood in particular but a very floral mixture of cedar, oak and cherry wood. There is white pepper flavor but no burn. The finish has an almost peaty/leathery note like a good scotch. There seems to be a light vanilla from time to time but that may just be the Bacardi 8 Anos' contribution which has paired quite well with this stick. This was not the best performer from the box but still quite good. Due to draw and burn problems I give it an 89. I've got 5 left. I'll smoke 1 on his 10th and 15th birthdays and he, my wife and myself will smoke the last 3 on his 18th birthday...regardless of whatever stupid minimum age law they pass here by then.

Baptized my wife today in the backyard pool with our church small group on Zoom as witnesses. It was amazing! Now to the Carlos Fernandez custom 109.

Draw and burn were fantastic throughout. The flavors were Cuban twang, toasted tobacco, pepper, cinnamon, baker's chocolate, leather, peat moss and a floral sweetness. There were a few transitions where the different flavors would change in intensity. In the 2nd third there was a distinct chocolate chip cookie flavor on a couple draws. All in all an enjoyable cigar with decent flavors but they just seemed a bit flat. In my humble the tobacco was not top quality. I give it an 88. Good cigar for sure but I wouldn't seek it out.
