Bolivar Belicosos Fino LMB DIC 17 (SMRW3/4)

This cigar is one of my favorites. I just passed a year of membership on here and after a year of CC's, these are top 3 for sure.  It blends all that's good about NC and CC for me.  Big, bold flavors without the harsh after effects.  Truly a top notch cigar.

I've abstained for 3 weeks, mostly a byproduct of young kids and no free time I the form of friends or family due to the CV lockdown.  I also felt it wasn't wise to tax my lungs at all until I was somewhat in the clear.  On to the BBF.....

Construction, Burn, Draw: All exceptional 

First third: Started with a V cut and it was a good concentration of stronger Boli flavors, earth, mushroom, Guinness, malty chocolate.  It settled into a leathery dominant third - something I'm not fond of in my BBF. 

Second third: I moved to straight cut after a few more leather puffs as I wasn't a fan and thought it might help.  Flavor profile change - instant cedar, then the malty chocolate goodness, heavier on malt.

Final third: chocolate goodness, still hints of leather, cedar, even some twang at points.

Overall: 90/100.  I can't put my finger on it, but it just wasn't what I wanted it to be. Damn good cigar, but just fell short of my expectations.  Still a fan - if it's a 90 when it's bad, you know it's good.
