i'll start by saying that this is my first bbf, and is the one received in the 2019 christmas sampler. i've been looking forward to this one as i have smoked few bolivars, and this one is plenty lauded on foh.

cold draw a touch loose with some sweetness coming through

1st 3rd: starts spicy and bitter, but quickly settles into cedar and over-brewed tea (thanks to @Joeysmoke for that tasting note!), quite lovely. the draw is perfect for me, which means just a little resistance. slowly smoothing out and requires a couple of touch-ups but nothing drastic.

2nd 3rd: smooth for sure, a touch of cedar, very slight spice and sweetness, some oat, and a nutty flavor like browned butter.

final 3rd: mostly same flavors continued (which is just fine), a coffee note, some mild chocolate cookie, ends wonderfully.

this is a fantastic cigar and makes me interested in what an aged example would be like. will definitely be buying a box or two in the near term.
