TheCigarslayer Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 FINALLY a reason to break out a Lustiania. I've never actually had one of these ever, and have been laying this box down waiting for an excuse. Glad I did! 1/3 Big spicy punch on the light up, leather and sourdough. Did not expect this to come out swinging like it did. I've had other DCs before and they usually take time to warm up (HdM DC, and RA Gigantes). Wham bam and off to the races. 2/3 The sourdough and body are stepping up. Spices have moved to the background more and its an excellent pairing. Flavors and smoke are a lot creamier. Moving towards the back half of this third the baking spices on the finish are great. Its around this point I realize as a minutos/corona/robusto guy I'm in it for the long haul. 3rds doesnt do justice for such an evolving and long experience...never underestimate the Double Corona. 3/3 Wow! Full body. Tons of rich smoke. Same flavors as the back half of 2/3 but getting bigger and richer. It's like the crescendo building. Towards the very end, its a sad time to realize it will come to an end. As I get into the last 1-1/2inch it is getting a bit muddled but still very enjoyable. A little saltiness. Score 96/100 Really wow. I think I'm going to be burning a few this week on vacation. Couldn't ask for more. Such an excellent cigar. I can see why they say the DC is the flagship of brands if you want to know the flavors. All the best parts of Partagas in here in spades. 2
