Popular Post David88 Posted March 2, 2020 Popular Post Posted March 2, 2020 I bought this PSP/HQ box some time ago and brought it out of my OLH last summer. It’s hard to tell from the pictures, but the wrapper is quite dark and brindled, decent sheen and a strong tobacco aroma at cold. I’m away in Sharm El Sheikh for the weekend so found a good spot on the beach and lit up. Perfect setting! The first third started with good Monte flavours - coffee, baking spice, a touch of cocoa cake and went. Body was just under medium. It’s definitely great to be out in the sun and the mojito I have is going down well too. The draw started to get uncomfortably tight so I cut some more. The second and final thirds didn’t see much radical change, but the body became progressively fuller until it was well over medium. The cigar performed well throughout, it needed a few touch ups, but with the breeze that’s to be expected. The stick showed a decent level of complexity but was far from the best (or worst) Monte 2 that I’ve had. These are seen by some as the quintessential Cuban cigar, with the variance between outstanding and awful you can certainly see why - the only consistency is inconsistency. Score today - 88. I’ve had some from this box that have been 92/93 point cigars so hopefully the next one will be better 9
