H. Upmann Regalias MEG MAR 17 (HURW)

Like the last one I tried, this one showed a bread-y honey and baking spice, with the addition of some light roasted coffee flavor.  I also picked up some herbal notes, but not prominent.  

The last half of the cigar though surprised me very, sweeter and heavier spice than usual, and reminded me of some great Regalias I'd had in 2018 that was a '17 box code.

This was thoroughly dry boxed so it burned very well. Light-medium. A good morning cigar, but not something I would want to have in the evening. I wonder if the age had something to do with the cigar being on the light side.

Good cigar. I'll rate it an 88. For the price, I think it should still be a good backup H. Upmann that doesn't disappoint if you treat it as such.

@Akela3rd you smoke a lot of these.  What do you think of my experience? I seem to prefer them young at 1+ years only.

Wow, what a reputation to gain! I do champion the under-the-radar cigars though, to be fair. Regalias = grand total of 37...
My previous box from MEG MAR 17 just has a note saying "OK, no HUPC" but my current box, PSP grade BRE JUL 19, is much better. Lots of milky coffee, touch of leather, well made. So from what you say and from my personal experience, yes they do smoke well young. But, these are PSP, the pick of the bunch from El Prez so that may be the difference.

Thanks for the review - will have to revisit these! Still have yet to smoke and compare the ones you sent. Been busy lately. Half corona sized kinda busy.

Thanks for your response! Your '19 box sounds like the Regalias I remember. It may be time to look/watch out for a PSP box.
