Popular Post slowsmoke Posted January 18, 2020 Popular Post Posted January 18, 2020 Grabbed a BCJ on this crisp, sunny morning because: (1) haven’t had one in a while, (2) RASCC and Principes haven’t been doing it for me lately, and (3) they are damn tasty. After lighting it and pulling up FOH on my phone, whaddya know, Bolivar review weekend! I am nearing the end of this box, and having genuine anxiety over it. They are awesome. No complex journey, just a stout mouthful of wet leather and toasted dark rye. Every now and then, a big bite of bitter walnuts. Even a little tar at the end was somehow enjoyable. It came out of a humidor that is running around 70DF/60RH, a little drier than I generally aim for, but man was it perfect. Impeccable burn and construction, huge smoke production. Razor sharp burn line. And a one-in-fifty perfect draw resistance. One of those perfect little cigars that makes you realize the cubans can in fact do it right, so why they hell do the screw up so many. Paired with a Ginger Honey Tea thing that recently appeared in my kitchen from who knows where. It is a jelly-like substance in a jar, with Korean writing on the label, and holy cow is it good. The sharpness of the ginger cuts so well through all the dark and chewy Boli flavors. On my scale of Crap < Decent < Good < Very Good < Excellent, this one was Excellent. Happy Saturday folks. 10
