MoeFOH Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 What did you read in 2019 that blew your socks off? For me, it was Paul Takes The Form Of A Mortal Girl by Andrea Lawlor. Something outside the sphere of my usual reading... a gender-fluid pop-culture sex romp of a work told by an author with a very powerful command of the language. Brilliant writing. And, if you're like me, it'll probably make you realise just how totally vanilla you truly are. And sometimes that is no bad thing. Great read! What's on your hit list for 2020? For me, I have to finally finish reading The Savage Detectives and then move on to 2666. Bolaño is continually raved about by people whose opinion I really respect, and he seems to get critical acclaim across the board, too. Half-way through The Savage Detectives and I'm not sure I'm going to be on the same bandwagon. We shall see, I guess. I mainly want to stop procrastinating and finish the bloody things! Anyhow, would love to see what others have read, are planning to read.
Arctic Dude Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 Keen to read The Madness of Crowds by Douglas Murray. 1
