Popular Post mt1 Posted December 30, 2019 Popular Post Posted December 30, 2019 Vegueros doesn't get much love but I was introduced to this cigar by our very own @nKostyan when I was in Moscow and had the great opportunity to meet a new FOH friend! Since then, I've purchased a box of these and smoke them every now and then. I still haven't been able to put my finger on exactly what the flavors are but I like them every time. I love the size, I believe this is the same as a Lancero. The cigar starts with a good punch, medium-strong but also soft at the same time like you would expect an aged cigar to be (I believe OCSU is July 1998). The start is woody, salty, and grassy--sort of like the salty Sancho Panzas but with a strong grassiness to it. There is no noticeable bite, pepper, or spicy to it and the smoke always seems velvety soft. Not bad for a "cheap" cigar. The second third progresses to a more earthy base note while maintaining that grassiness. The salt fades near halfway to bring in a bitter coco, still overlayed on an earthy base with the grassy overtones. The last third tends to shift suddenly. I've had probably a dozen or so sticks and they seem to go two ways: 1) they either become too bitter to smoke for me or 2) they shift back to woody, with new coffee bean notes at the end with toastiness. This specific stick was luckily the toasted coffee bean ending which I prefer. One issue I've always had with this cigar is it will not stay lit if it is too humid or windy out, you have to keep puffing on it or relighting it. Not a big deal to me as I like to slow down and enjoy these ones. I think for most people, this would not be a spectacular cigar but I really enjoy the flavor and, of course, the best part is how I came to try this cigar for the first time, so there is a lot of personal bias here (like with all cigars in my opinion). 10/10. 4 1
Derboesekoenig Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 I've always wanted to try these, but they seem to be nowhere to be found
