Popular Post LordAnubis Posted December 29, 2019 Popular Post Posted December 29, 2019 Australia is a wonderful land for many things. Cigars is not one of them. With duties the way they are, I’m always on the hunt for cheap cigars that are good. That’s why PCs and Half Coronas have become 95% of my collection. I got some aged Vegueros to try out to see what this super cheap cigar can do after a few years. I have not tried them fresh. It opened quite rough. Like a fresh cigar. Which wasn’t a good sign considering how short a cigar it is. After the first cm though it developed into a milder more approachable flavour. Was quite mixed and it wasn’t till Ian pointed it out that I pinpointed the underlying grass characteristic. No evolution really though in some parts there was some leather notes coming through more than others I smoked three in a row to give it a good shake. Overall is it a magical cigar? No. We’re they consistent? Shockingly so to be honest. Construction was a bit hit and miss but you get with a box of cohibas too so you can’t chalk that as a negative. Is it worth buying a cheap I box and throwing in the back of humidor? I’d buy two or three boxes. They’re decent. I think they would be pretty good at about the 3-4 year mark. Something just tells me these went over their prime by a whisker. I’m now curious to try out the new robusto sized cigar that they’ve released. 5
