Upon cutting the draw is good. Straight out of the gate is the sweet biscuit, cocoa with a touch of cream. Some pepper spice lingers on the palette. Sadly, the first few puffs were the best. As the cigar progressed the pepper spice would go up and down in intensity, the cocoa wasn't nearly as focused, little to no cream, some toasted tobacco and biscuit. Late in the finish during the final 3rd there was some leather. Though the flavors weren't quite focused everything was balanced which gives me hope. The first cigar from this psp box was phenomenal so I was hoping that trend would continue but this cigar seemed to need some more time to settle in and get comfortable with itself. I really enjoy Montecristo at 5 years and given how the first couple out of this box have been I feel very good about how these are going to be in 4 more years. I give it an 90 now with quite a bit of upside.
