Popular Post Wailbait Posted December 14, 2019 Popular Post Posted December 14, 2019 RJ Belicoso. I’d love to start this review by saying this is my favorite cigar and I seek them out wherever I go. Sadly, that isn’t the case. I bought this box because I had never had one before, was PSP, and because TOS was my favorite code from that era. So I figured - if any box of RJ Belicosos was going to be good, this would be the one. This is my last from the box. This cigar is BEAUTIFUL. Weight. Feel. Construction. Draw. It’s an A+. I love the color, I love the vibe. It’s sheen-y without being oily. If cigars were being graded solely on construction, this would be an A+. Sadly they are graded on construction and taste. It’s in the latter category that it falls off a bit. This is not to say the flavors are bad. In fact, upon lighting, my buddy commented on how wonderful it smelled. It’s just the entire experience was slightly... undifferentiated. I got some obligatory spice notes at the top. Enjoyable. Grass. Twang. But ultimately there was no story. No new notes. It was generally ... fine. Disappointing vis a vis the incredible sheen and construction but if it had a great flavor, it might have been a 99! As it stands, it was a 91. Has so much going for it based on the assessment of raw materials. But it never really developed. Burn was flawless too. No touch ups. For those that love this cigar, I understand there is a lot to like. For me, it seemed like a commercial for TOS 15 quality. 7
