Popular Post Hollywood Ninja Posted December 9, 2019 Popular Post Posted December 9, 2019 Cigar : Montecristo No. 5 (4x40) Specs : OBM NOV 16 (3yr), 3 weeks humidor rest @ 58% RH, single flame torch, smoking outside on the deck, 43 degrees F and calm weather here in the Pacific Northwest. Disclaimer : Relatively new to CCs in general. Smoked this after a crushing Seahawks loss to the Rams. This was gifted from a friend whose storage medium I trust, hence the short rest time on my end. Initial notes : First No. 5 I've ever had, and relatively new to Monte in general aside from MMCs. Love this size and love small sticks in general. Great construction. Dark, smooth and oily wrapper. Perfect draw. Burn starts off a little wavy. Light spice and toasted tobacco. Huge smoke output and wonderful aroma. Final notes : Not a lot of flavor changes until the very end where the sweetness ramps up some. The initial spice faded away and returned towards the end as well with just a hint of bitterness. Not getting any of the cream or chocolate that I hear so much about, mostly just solid, delicious toasted tobacco with mineral twang on the lips. Finish on the palette is smooth and long. Burn continues to be wavy, but that doesn't bother me much. The stick only needed a couple touch ups. Medium body, medium strength. I will certainly need to get into more of these to discover some of those classic Monte notes. As it was, this could possibly be the perfect stranded on a desert island smoke to only have for the rest of one's life. Smoke time : 40 minutes Score : 9/10 6
CampDelta369 Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 Thanks for reviewing. I’m halfway through a box of ENE 18 and all have been solid. I have not had the full line of MC but have found the most prevalent cocoa and creams in the MC#4 so far. I really like the small format on these though. 1
