Popular Post Meklown Posted December 3, 2019 Popular Post Posted December 3, 2019 I had this on Sunday night but am posting this review a little late - Let's go ahead and fill 2 slots in the slot machine shall we? (Slot 1) Monte as well as (Slot 2) Piramide that I got from the PCC Aged program a few months ago. This is a Monte, and it's a Monte #2. You know what you're going to get - Chocolate biscuits. The wrapper on this one was quite nice, a nice dark colorado shade without being too oily. In fact it had dried out a little, having been in the dry box for 2 weeks, so as I cut there was a little crack near the head. Cold draw was exactly as expected - chocolate biscuits. with just a touch of mint. The taste from tip to nub was really 100% chocolate biscuits. Maybe we could call it chocolate digestives, as there was a little oatmeal flavour occasionally throughout the cigar. There was basically no flavour variation at all, while the strength steadily increased towards the end but never got anywhere too strong. Construction was perfect - the draw was always perfect, while the burn was also perfect throughout, always getting the perfect pyramid each time I tapped the ash, with no need for any touchups or re-lights. Smoke time was around 1h10min, a little quicker than usual, but there is a reason for that - Also pictured is the paired drink for the night, Suntory Premium Malt, the Japanese stout. I had asked for a Guinness but they did not have it on the tap in this bar so I had to settle for something else. This isn't as flavourful as a Guinness, noticeably lighter in body and has a fresher malt/cereal taste. It complemented the cigar relatively well. On the TV screen was Norwich v Arsenal - the previous manager being let go was a catalyst for me to start watching again. Nervousness was probably the reason why I smoked quicker than usual! 89/100 for the cigar 82/100 for the drink 80/100 for Arsenal's renewed attempt to play attacking football before running out of steam in the 2nd half 40/100 for Arsenal's defence (entirely due to the keeper, otherwise it would be 0/100) 7
