No box of cigars in my collection has been more frustrating. My box of 2015 Monte no 2 almost made this review but the last couple I’ve smoke have shown tons of improvement recently. I cannot say the same for the magnum 46. The first stick out of this box smoked wonderfully ROTT. Every single cigar after that was beyond terrible. So, about 12 cigars and six months later since my last one, I’m going to give this one a shot. 

The wrapper is velvety and almost sticky to the touch. Not smooth at all, but not ugly. Nicely constructed and a straight cut reveals a good drawl. 

First impressions after lighting: here we go again... wood, wood, wood. Almost bitter. Not much else. 

And that’s it! Nothing changed from the initial light to some point in the last third where I decided I wasted an hour of my life trying to taste something interesting other than bitter wood while I threw it in the ash tray. I imagine it was like chewing on a piece of burnt wood. 

I don’t know what to do with the remainder of these sticks. Based on every one else’s reviews, it seems like mag 46s should be ready to smoke within a few months of the box date. I don’t know if these cigars are more tannic than others and need more rest or if I got a box of duds. Either way, I won’t be saving these for a special occasion. I almost gave up on h upmann as a whole as this and half Coronas are my only boxes but I purchased some clearance No 2s from 24:24 and those are amazing. 

Good thing I have plenty of others to smoke while I let these sit another year or two.
