Popular Post Hollywood Ninja Posted November 9, 2019 Popular Post Posted November 9, 2019 Cigar : Bolivar Coronas Junior (4-3/8 x 42) Specs : ETP FEB 17 (2yr 9mo), 33 weeks humidor rest, 58% RH, soft flame lighter, smoking outside on the deck, 48 degrees F and raining here in the Pacific Northwest. Disclaimer : Baby is down for a nap, so I might be smoking this a little hotter than I should, but I'm trying to pace myself give the RG of this stick. I've gone through about 10 sticks from this box and have yet to have a BCJ that I've really loved, although I do love Shorts, RASCC and El Principe. BBFs are one of my favorite smokes. Never have had anything else from this marca. Initial notes : I can already tell I'm going to have draw issues. This thing is hard as a rock. Band is loose, so RH is where I like it. I'll massage it a bit. Upon lighting draw is very tight, but manageable with tons of smoke output. Nearly this entire box has had draw problems, so no surprise here. Stick starts off with a bright harshness that I don't enjoy. I'm horrible at picking out flavors, so I describe smoking like I do when I'm mixing audio (audio engineer here). Not loving it, but it's the first light so we'll see how this goes. Aroma is fantastic. It did tame down after half and inch or so. Much more mid-range flavors with a dark tobacco flavor and a little sweetness poking its head in. Final notes : Loads of smoke output and flavor. Got more medium+ towards halfway point. Can’t feel any nicotine at the halfway, so I’ll put that at either light or light+ for strength. Flavors got a bit bolder towards the end. Mineral flavor became a little brighter and mouth feel got a bit drier. Finish has moved towards upper back of my throat. Retrohale has been smooth as silk. Not a grain of pepper to be found. Burn has been great, no touch ups needed. Strength definitely picked up towards the end, feeling a nice N buzz. Smoke time : 40 minutes Score : I scored this way back when at a 8/10 perhaps giving the smoke the benefit of the doubt hoping this box would improve. This wasn't a great example, maybe even the worst that I've had. I would have usually chucked it by now (nice thing about inexpensive minutos), but I wanted to finish for the review and who knows how long the baby is going stay down, so this one will get a 6/10. Gonna put the rest of this box down for a longer nap and see if they open up some. 5
SansSin Posted November 10, 2019 Posted November 10, 2019 nice review, i wasn't a fan of these either, only tried one 6 pack but 5 out of 6 had a tree branch rolled in it and tasted terrible. they were some of the first cigars i ordered from here, thought i got ripped off with some fakes? 1

Folks in general seem to love BCJs, so I’m still on the hunt for a good example. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
Targetshot28 Posted November 18, 2019 Posted November 18, 2019 I had the same issues with these Mine are about 4 years old now. I also have Punch Petit Coronas that was the same reactionMy go to cutter was a v-cut. One day I didn’t have it with me but had a hole punch. Went with it that day. I don’t know if it’s just me. But changed the smoke completely. Wish I hadn’t given a lot of them away like I did. I also tended to pair it with a sweeter drink (rum) Give it a go and let us know Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
