Silverstix Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 I have had this 10 count box since December 2018, but I haven’t wanted to crack it open for some reason. Maybe afraid of wasting one that was too young? Anyway, I was able to secure a second 10 count box so that made me ease up the purse strings on this first box. I am very excited to take this baby for a spin! And what a box it is. The wrappers are all beautiful. Glowing Colorado wrappers, with a sprinkling of sheen, a little bit of tooth, and a whole bunch of pungent barnyard aroma. The cigar is filled solid, I give it a punch cut and the draw is perfect! We’re off.... 1/3 starts off kind of flat and has me worried that it is too young. First 1/2” of the cigar, just like in the video review on FOH, is very blah. Then it opens up delivering big notes of what I call “bright” flavors. Think of the ginger you eat while you’re out having sushi. It feels bright and clean on your palate and that’s what I’m hit with. Citrus/malt/bread/cream in that order. Just under medium bodied. 2/3 and there are no new flavors coming through. But the complexity of the flavors deepen. This thing is just a flavor bomb, I could smoke these every day. Squarely medium bodied now. Strength is still mild-medium. 3/3 and the profile had plateaued a bit. There is some pepper now showing up on the finish. Not a bad thing just a departure from what’s been going on to this point. Maybe something that will go away with another year, or maybe a result of a couple of touch ups with the lighter. The draw was perfect start to finish. Construction was great as well. I did have to touch up the burn line a couple of times which perhaps affected the 3/3. But this was still a GREAT cigar. The profile is right in my wheelhouse. This cigar represents everything that I love about Cuban tobacco - a full flavored cigar with medium body. I’m glad I have a second full box so that I can smoke this box with some peace of mind!! Overall: 91/92 with room to grow a few points Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 4
Chucko8 Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 Have to admit that I too was pleasantly surprised by these sticks when trying one out a few months back. Very easy going sticks. Nice review and pics 3
Silverstix Posted October 27, 2019 Author Posted October 27, 2019 It was very pleasantly surprising. I think I liked the 54 the best so far to be honest:54Coronas Claro50Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
