Popular Post Wailbait Posted October 21, 2019 Popular Post Posted October 21, 2019 This is less a “review” of a cigar than the musing on what the nature of classics are. When I think of classic things, I think if things that have stood the test of time. And, in a sense, seem timeless. Blue jeans. A white t-shirt. I started thinking of classic cars that interested me. Immediately the Aston Martin DB5 popped in my head. Also some old Ferrari’s. They are classic to be sure. Timeless. Elegant. But almost of another time. Certainly aspirational (as I will never own one.) So I thought, “what car is older, but still seems pertinent, and attainable? What is blue jeans and a white shirt? Standing the test of time and reliable. My e320 wagon is the antithesis of sexy. Every mom drove one when I was a kid. But it’s cool. It’s fixable and truly never breaks. And I STILL get compliments on it! If I were thinking of a DB5, Id think about an aspirational cigar. My something triple banded that is super rare. But now I just think about tried and true. The epi 2 isn’t rare. It’s not sexy. (Although this wrapper was sexy as hell!) I love these La Corona Epi 2s. (AME, TOS etc). They seem to work. They run. They don’t go out of style. 7
MoeFOH Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 A good bloke once chauffeured me around LA in one of those. A grand ol' ship of the desert! I hear you can pick them up on eBay pretty cheap. Nice review, mate. Hope you are well!
