Popular Post CptGoodTimes Posted September 8, 2019 Popular Post Posted September 8, 2019 Introduction: This will be my first Ex#4, & I’m excited it has over 6 years of age on it with box code POU JUN13. Appearance: This Stick is fully packed, & I mean Fully. I expect a draw on the tighter side. Wrapper looks good. A little spotty here & there. I know all about the “red” wrappers, & I’m concerned because this doesn’t show much red. Opening: Yep...draw is on tighter side, but I don’t think any intervention is necessary, at least not yet. The burn starts off great...razor sharp. Getting faint leather/earthy/toasted Tobacco with a tanginess being left on the palate in the end. End of first 3rd: Lots of viscous smoke. Superb construction and burn. The ash dropped right at end of third. Flavor hasn’t changed any & that’s a little disappointing. I was hoping for some Cherry & perhaps a little Chocolate, but nada. End of second 3rd: Well...this isn’t going anywhere. The leather has left the toasted tobacco/earthiness holding the baton. The tangy after taste is also long gone. With intense concentration, there might be a slight coffee cream, but hardly enough to make this journey memorable. End of final 3rd: No mas! Threw in the towel on this one. Final thougts: This was very similar to all the RyJs that have come before. Didn’t blow my hair back & was just more of the same, unimpressive flavor. The construction was great. The burn was great. The draw turned out to be good. If only the flavor profile had followed suit. Oh well, onward we march. 6
THEMISCHMAN Posted September 9, 2019 Posted September 9, 2019 Nice review. Too bad you didn’t enjoy it more. I like that ashtray. 1
