Romeo y Julieta Petit Royal (unknown code) 2018--RJCRW

Im a big fan of the short corona, just like @Ken Gargett so I was keen to try the Petit Royal, this is a single I got from the store as I missed out on the unreal deal from a few months ago where 2 boxes was a mere 175ish. I have a soft spot for RyJ which is ironic bc ive had more bad experiences than good, but I do love the profile when it is on.

This wrapper was a darker shade, one I wouldn't normally hope for in a RyJ, but the first few puffs seemed to hint that it was going to be an enjoyable smoke, a faint hint of fruit along with darker espresso flavor. From there it was tobacco and espresso. Not much in this,

Second half proved the same, but more mottled and bitter, could taste a hint of cedar here and there but I very well could've been reaching. This was a massive letdown, construction was an A+, great draw, long ash and never hinted at any need for touchups, but that was the best part of the experience. 

Overall, this was a massive bust, id say im being generous giving it an 80. I have one more, unfortunately it appears to have the same dark wrapper. I will try again, ive heard many positive reviews.

They're hit or miss. I thoroughly enjoyed 2 of the 4 ive smoked.
