david9985 Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Down to the last half dozen of the box and it has been just OK. Time for another look now on a warm, still evening and paired with some dark chocolate and orange juice. The draw is ever so slightly on the tight side of perfect and the cigar relatively densely packed. First Third Begins with a large quantity of thick, creamy smoke. The predominant flavours are a nuttiness and leather. It’s a pleasant start and hits the ground running: This is medium-full from the off. Second Third Occasional touch ups to keep the wrapper burning have been required but have had no noticeable impact on flavours. Towards the end of the second third the cigar has dropped down to medium. Leather is the predominant taste but the nuts are still there with a woodiness and something more vegetal, close to forest floor. Final Third Touch-ups have continued throughout but the ash has been rock solid. No sooner do notions of going all the way arrive though, when I clumsily drop it and the opportunity is lost. There isn’t the same creaminess or volume to the smoke as at the start but discernible flavours remain. The HdM PR is beginning to smoke hot now but is still enjoyable. I set if down after 45 minutes. Summary This was above average for me in terms of enjoyment from this box. I think I feel like I expect the HdM PR to be sweeter than it is. In terms of this box the profile has certainly been more savoury. Today’s was satisfying through to the end with some transition to hold interest too. It’s an 88 for me. Cheers 3
