LCDH Dubai update

A few people were asking about this place recently, and I passed through today and had a nice experience.

There are quite a few locations where you can buy cigars within Dubai airport, but I believe the best is the LCDH near gate B15 in the Emirates Terminal 3. Stock is really pretty good: they had UAO Esplendidos, QdO 50 and 54, Punch DC in 25 boxes and MdO no.4 plus quite a few regionals, LCDH and LE releases.

Most impressively, the chap who looked after me was happy to open quite a lot of boxes, and was very cool about me turning down anything I didn’t like the look of. I left with (hopefully) really good examples of MdO no.4 and QdO 54s. Vibrant, shiny, oily goodness.

One thing that did not impress me were the regional Diplomaticos Ammunition and SLR Herfing. I looked at 3-4 boxes of each and they were all various shades of green and yellow. Bleurgh. Chap in the shop was totally straight about it: didn’t try to sell me what I didn’t want!

Prices not as good as our host, and clearly you have to pick and choose. But overall a very solid option.

Also went through Dubai Duty Free recently. They had great stock in terminal 3 and in the connections terminal. Although on both occasions I was rifling through boxes on my own!

Ended up with a box of QdO 50 (for a bargain price) from the connections humidor. And a box of RA La Palmera UAE Regional from Terminal 3. Although like @RDB I had to open quite a few boxes before finding a good one. But no one was there to stop me!
