genevapics Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 I just spoke with the better half, and she is all for it. I believe we will be staying at the Waldorf also. [Not sure that is a good idea with all of these Aussies, but what the heck.] Getting in saturday morning and leaving on monday. My plans are to spend either saturday/sunday with the FOH family. The other day will be spent with the better half... shopping and hopefully a Broadway show/dinner. A question or two regarding the lunch into dinner HERF. The restaurant located in the Little Italy area sounds like a winner. If we start off lunch at this establishment are we going to hang there all day and swing into dinner? Or do we want to eat at another place for dinner? I thought Peter Luger's would be a good call, but they are only available for lunch on both saturday & sunday. Plus they do not allow smoking... [NYC smoking ban!] But they do have a private room that we could use... holds about 30 people. Something to consider. Only drawbacks... NO SMOKING... CASH ONLY... and across the river in Brooklyn [although I am not sure that is really a drawback.] For those not familiar with Peter Luger's, let's just say it is one of America's finest steakhouses. As for which day we should get together... I am open, but would prefer we do it saturday. Looking forward to the weekend. By the way, are we supposed to bring our own cigars or is El Prez supplying the goods? :-D

That xyz123 restaurant in Little Italy is one of them. The food is really good and smoking is by the bar!!! Some of the FOH members can swear by the food. Its easy to catch a cab to the place.
El Presidente Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 I need to speak with Jimmy2 and my Aussie mate in NY Anthony Davies on Wednesday. Will post the weekend itinerary Friday for signups just so we can get approx numbers. Should be a cracker :-D
Jimmy2 Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Prez I talked to the gent who owns the smoking Lounge that I go to all the time.He said he would love to have everyone come down .I could work out the details if all want to go there. Its a laid back atmosphere and I think we would all have a great time there. Also maybe we can do Lunch in the City . But late afternoon into dinner the lounge would be the best and also their is alot of resturants on the same block. We can have a blast in one area and the cost will be down for everyone because its not in the City. And the food is just as good as the city if not better . 1)Woodhaven House /Bar resturant big place and the woodwork its firstclass.Heard good things about the food there.. 2)Joe Abbracciamento Rest..A+++ great place to eat ! one of NYC Mayor Guiliani favorites place to eat .Meatballs to die for some of the best you will ever taste. 3)London Lennie's seafood Rest...A+++Top notch place to eat always packed great bar drinks.. And their is also a Sicilian Rest and another Italian Rest within a couple of blocks from the Lounge. I will leave the webpage for the lounge so everyone can see and make a choice.Remember if this is going to be a late night thing we have to be comfortable and than the Lounge is the right way to go i would think( it has 2 floors of smokeing space). As i have been to Little Italy the places are very small and for an all nighter not good in my idea. The Lounge is 15 min by cab from NYC .This is just an Idea for this fun day when we hang in Feb.. http://www.havanadreamssmokelounge.com/index.html
