Popular Post shadowACE
This weekends competition definitely inspired me to break away from traditional cigar/whisky pairing. While I didn't make a complete departure from the whisky component, I changed it up a little by mixing a batch of Manhattans. First the drink...my preferred Manhattan recipe: 3 parts whisky 1 part sweet Vermouth .5 part dry Vermouth 3 dashes Angostura bitters Shaken with ice. Strained into a rocks glass. I also omit the cherries and twist. The whisky I used tonight is a four-grain Canadian called Gooderham & Worts. I didn't know what to expect from the pairing if I'm being honest. But...it delivered. The sweetness of the drink went well with the spice and pepper from the HU#2. After the pepper faded a creamy coffee note crept in that went quite nicely with the rye bite from the whisky. Overall for the pairing I would give it a 7/10. Cheers gentlemen. Sent from my SM-N960W using Tapatalk
