Popular Post Chucko8 Posted July 8, 2019 Popular Post Posted July 8, 2019 Figured that this would be the ideal stick to smoke for this review weekend. It was from my first ever purchase on FOH 24:24 roughly a year ago. Coincidentally my first time to try one of the Cohiba Maduro 5 sticks. The stick has been resting in my 62% box for 2 months as had planned to smoke it sometime back but not got around to it. Wrapper is even dark shade all over with some noticeable lumps and bumps. The feel construction wise is good, no soft spots. On the nose there is a light cedar and rich tobacco smell. Cold draw detected cedar and cocoa. Draw was very easy with not too much in the way of resistance. 1/3 presented me with milk chocolate coffee and nut profile. 2/3 cocoa coffee came to the fore with nut still there and added in a honey flavour that I usually associate with the Cohiba. Nice nicotine hit flowing through me. Ash was holding on nice and burn fairly even. 3/3 Leather & pepper came in and the coffee and nuts remaining to begin. Then the pepper and harshness became a bit too much and I had to put it down. Overall I believe this was an enjoyable stick and would rate it at 89. I feel that give this another 3 years to allow the elbows to round out and subdue that ending this cigar would be up at the 92 mark. Will just have to wait 3 years to find out. 7
