Popular Post FatPete Posted May 12, 2019 Popular Post Posted May 12, 2019 Robaina Unicos MEG JUL 16 Dry boxed for 2 days from 67RH 18C humidor Lovely chocolate smelling wrapper Nice and oily A V-cut produced a nice draw of very sweet hay & tobacco. First Third Earthy tobacco start, full flavoured but under medium body.Aromatic woods and that Cuban twang. A little chocolate in the background. Draw seemed to tighten up, but that was solved with a proper straight cut. I was expecting a sweeter smoke given the cold draw taste. Second third Little change from the first third initially, though I seem to have lost the chocolate. Body now medium full, and becoming more earthy towards the end of this third. A mild chilli spice comes and goes. Final third Earthy tobacco & chilli spice mix now, with aromatic woods in the background. Awaiting the coffee taste I usually get with the Unicos but it's a no show. Burn suffering & harshness begins to spoil things, though I did manage to get down to the band. Conclusion: An ok cigar, but disappointing for a Unicos. I smoked through a 2015 box which had chocolate in spades, and I think this will develop with these in a year or so. 7/10 5
