Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure Number 2 GOM April 18 (HRW) *

Ah, the Epi 2. Always an enjoyable smoke but never one that’s blown me away. This is usually a go-to when I’m giving a Cuban to a friend that’s never had one. They’re always consistent, smooth, and easy to smoke. Definitely a great cigar to introduce someone to Cubans but it loses a little luster as you get deeper into the CC rabbit hole and discover the flavors that other CC’s can offer. Still, a very good smoke that I always seem to have in the humidor. 

1st third - lots of cream and some touches of mild spice. 

2nd third - burn has been great to this point. Still getting some cream but not much else.

Last third - now we’re talking!  Good dose of that “Cuban twang”. Cream is back. Cocoa starting to come in.  Great finish and enough to make me open the box back up and grab another one when the time comes!  Forgot to take a pic of the last third. The finish of the Duke - UCF game took all my attention..
