I could have sworn this cigar was from last years Christmas Sampler, but after research it wasn't.  So I'm guessing this is one I brought back from Morocco last summer, my guess is a 2018, no idea box code, I wasn't smart enough to get those back then.

Today was a good day.  Spring is springing in the south, I started with a talk and book signing with an author who wrote books on Doc Holliday.  Who knew he was born in Georgia, certainly not me.  Then some yard work - planting and mulching and setting up new bird feeders.  All in glorious sun.  No ($%##) snow and finally no rain.  What better  way to end the evening than with a nice Cuba Libre and a cigar.

I was torn between this and a du Marie.  I probably should have chosen the latter.  Construction was good, and light and draw were very good.  A tad uneven burn, but overall no problems smoking.  I don't get all the flavors that some do, as @CigarScentedBeard says, I really only know if a cigar is good or bad to me.  There was nothing wrong with this cigar, but I kept wondering if a robusto is the right type for me.  It just seemed ... big.  Maybe because I've been smoking more shorts and such lately, but still I kept wondering if I had grabbed the wrong one to smoke.  Some woodiness.  Some light hints of sweetness.  Wouldn't say caramel (I so want those PLPC's), but sweet. Of course the Cuba Libre probably helped that some.   Smoothness overall.  Not harsh, not one of El Pres's mongrels.  Overall a good smoke, a good cigar, but not sure I'd grab one again over my Monte's or Party Shorts.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.  Spring is coming.  Soon Augusta and Azaleas (no idea what I'm taking there to smoke), and soon the godawful heat.  But today was a lovely day :)
