HdM is my top 2 marca along with the other H. I probably have more boxes of HdM on hand than any other and about 3 boxes of the EE.

 

Punch cut and off we go. Cold draw is sweet tobacco. i love the aroma when I'm toasting the foot. Smells like a bakery. 1st draw and I'm hit with a light cream and very slight spice/clove. Wood brings up the rear in a major way. I'm getting a slight tannicy flavor as well and this was a foreshadowing of things to come.

 

The cream becomes sweet and the smoke is medium velvety, not quite the heavy cream that comes with well aged HdMs. Wood is still a major player on the back end and that familiar clove is right in the middle of things. However, about halfway through, the tannic taste starts overwhelming. I try to push through it and hang on for another 10 draws or so, but at this point i know this one just isnt going to do it for me.

 

Pitched at a little past halfway. 87 through the first third but a zero overall. Anything that gets pitched is a zero. Unfortunate, because I have been enjoying the rest from this box. I've had about 10 and all were btwn 86-92. I know I just got a dud and that's unfortunate for review purposes but tis the way of cubans.

 

Smoked with some Yamazaki NAS. Moved on to a JL2. Have a great weekend!
