Popular Post David88 Posted March 15, 2019 Popular Post Posted March 15, 2019 I picked up a 10 box of these a few months ago and have been slowly working my way through them. The box has been a bit inconsistent in construction as while they look great, the burn of a few sticks has been a bit erratic. When cut, the draw was fairly easy. I usually prefer a firm draw so this was on the loose side, but not so much to consider it a wind tunnel. The first third showed typical Monte flavours (from my experience). Coffee, cocoa, a hint of pepper. Body just under medium. The burn, as I had found from others in the box, was all over the place. Thoughout the entire stick it needed regular correction. Although it never went out, it was off putting. The flavour didn’t change much as I smoked, although the body did increase slightly and the pepper notes came and went in patches. I don’t typically smoke a lot of Petit Edmundos and this one, while enjoyable enough, was pretty unremarkable. The burn issues were a bit distracting and the flavour never really offered enough complexity. Final score - 85 I smoked a monte 4 earlier in the week which made for an interesting comparison. The flavour seemed more concentrated in the Monte 4, although there are similarities between the two. Although this was enjoyable enough, it didn’t do enough to replace the No.4 as my go-to Montecristo. 6
StalinisBallinn Posted March 16, 2019 Posted March 16, 2019 Good write up! Just bought some monte Edmundos from 24:24 the other day. Can’t wait to try!
