Popular Post Markspring1978 Posted March 3, 2019 Popular Post Posted March 3, 2019 So, I don’t consider myself much a reviewer, but thought I’d give it a shot. This Siglo VI is the first I’ve smoked from this box, at now a bit over 5 years of age, I thought I’d break them out and see how they are doing. I had a group of 8 of my best friends over this weekend for one guy’s 50th birthday stag party. It was a great time to break out a special cigar while we played Hold ‘Em. The cold draw was loose, I found this surprising. The flavors were as expected with the classic hay, grassy flavor with a touch of sour tanginess. As it was a special occasion, I paired with Dalmore 18. This a rich and fruity Scotch. Not necessarily my favorite dram, but it complimented the cigar very nicely. When lighting, I was again a little surprised by the loose draw, but delighted with the immediate sweet aromas of caramel and nuttiness that were expected and immediately enjoyable. Near the end of the first third, the construction issues were evident as the burn became uneven and a bit wonky. Through the second third, the burn issues persisted and I had to touch it up a couple times. This was a little disappointing, but the flavors that now expressed themselves with creaminess and coffee flavors more than overcame the burn shortcomings. The sour saltiness on the wrapper continued to add to the experience. The flavors became increasingly richer and filler through the final third to the nub. Definitely spicier as the heat started to singe my fingertips. Perhaps that was just due to the increased sensations and hotter smoke. This cigar was fantastic and lasted about 1:45. I am now really looking forward to the next one, hopeful with a tighter draw. For my rating purposes I would put this at 92 on a 100 point scale. A better burn would push it up to 94-95 in this reviewers humble opinion. 6
