Brian24
The Boli PC is hands down my ‘go to’ cigar. I’ve had this particular box for almost 2 years and I’m sad to say this is the last smoke in the box. 25 perfectly tasting and perfectly constructed PCs. I can’t wait to get another box. The PC to me exemplifies everything a CC should be and demonstrates cost doesn’t always equate to a better smoking experience. When smoked, I don’t necessarily get different flavors as the experience progresses. Flavors intensify, but remain static in my experience. Unlit, I experience barnyard, but a sweet barnyard. When this box was brand new, I’d frequently get a salt note on the first few draws that dissipated quickly. Interestingly the salt disappeared after a year or so. I’m not an experienced reviewer, so bear with me, but I get rich tobacco flavor that is almost nutty and caramel hints. I don’t often hear people describe the Boli profile as being sweet, but the PCs have always had a slightly sweet background note. Possibly the caramel? Sometimes these taste almost like a RyJ Churchill except more robust. Like if a Churchill is a mixed drink, this is a neat shot of the distilled spirit. The flavors are very rich. The smoke for a smaller cigar is plentiful and the aroma is second to none. My wife loves sitting outside with me on the porch when I burn these. The burn is perfect and I can’t recall ever having to relight a PC. I tend to get 40 minutes out of these little guys. If you’ve never had one, I suspect if you pick up a box you will frequently find yourself reaching for these over many other sticks. I prefer the PC to the Boli belicoso (the small torpedo, is that right?) I give the PC near perfect marks for what it is as it is delicious, not fussy (so many cigars are extremely temperamental), relatively inexpensive, and the right size for many occasions. It’s like a nice Honda Accord with leather seats. Above average and maybe more than you feel like you paid for. Sure, a Mercedes is nice, until you have to pay for a repair.
