Popular Post Wilzc Posted November 6, 2018 Popular Post Posted November 6, 2018 PLPC ----> Toasted honey. Toasted caramel. Toasted tobacco. Toasted wheat and cereal. Hits of nuts, cinnamon and spiced cookies. X Hitachino Nest Beer ----> Hints of honey, wheat, bitttersweet hops. Florals with a tinge of nuttiness. The effervescence of the beer washes the palate with the right notes and readies it for the next puff and swig! Towards the 2nd half of the smoke the pairing becomes smoother and creamier, with a slightly denser feel. The beer warmed up in tropical weather and the effervescence toned while the cigar got darker and nuttier altering the pairing completely, from fresher brighter hints of honey, caramel toast and floral notes to nutty, buttery and bready notes. Last 3rd gets a little weird as I'm 45mins in and the beer is almost room temperature. Things start to get slightly tannic and bitter. Dark orange peel emerges from the mix. Burnt caramel. Chugged the beer and moved onto the old faithful San Pellegrino Sparkling Mineral Water. Cigar died a couple of times as I take too many bathroom breaks during the last 3rd. (Pro-tip, when buying PLPC blind, the bitterness from the cigar can be enhanced by the bitterness of the hops creating an overtly bitter concoction that will ruin your day! This photo was taken with a far better batch of PLPC from le host) 5
leafdream54 Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 Thanks for the honest review and the Pro-tip! Any idea of the box code or year of the PLPC?
Islandboy Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 Nice! Good pro-tip, I’ve noticed this with certain cigars when paired with an IPA. Cigars from elsewhere, of course
