Something special review weekend: unkown custom roll

[mention=2344]gotacohiba[/mention] held a little competition a few weeks/months ago asking for help picking a cuban cigar related license plate tag for his sweet Corvette. Mine was obviously the best choice, "CC SMKR"!!!

 

There were several good entries, so rather than awarding one person a prize, he sent the top 3 a nice selection of habanos, one of which was a custom. The cigar I chose for the something special weekend.

 

For those of us who cant go to Cuba, or have close friends who do go, its exceptionally difficult to get customs. Unless you want to pay a mule a lot more to get them for you, which in my mind defeats the purpose of them. Their price to value ratio on the Island is amazing, paying a lot more to get them doesn't justify the end result, IMO.

 

Initial light up and its pure blasts of cuban twang soaked in butter cream. Has an incredible almond/marzipan element that is literally mouthwatering. The smoke output is tremendous, and the oily coating of flavor explosions left behind with each puff are mesmerizing.

 

I've only sampled a small handful of customs. If I had to guess, I think it's a monsdale. I've had one before and it's the same profile to my untrained palate.

 

This cigar was special because it came from someone's generosity. I didn't ask for any cigars. I would have gladly given any and all guesses for a license plate, simply because it was fun, with no reward necessary. Receiving a handful of great smokes only goes to show the brotherhood and comraderie of not only this site but the cigar smoking community in general.

 

A fantastic smoke. If they were mine to begin with, I'd have a hard time giving them away! Now I have a greater sense of "paying it forward". The benefit of this one small gesture has now created a life of it's own and will continue on!

 It was from a bundle I picked up from Yolanda, they have been divine

As to the license plate I went a different direction 

I decided to go with something that held special family meaning to me, work family

I work with an incredible team of guys and the tag is an acronym for our team motto
