Popular Post jcorona Posted October 1, 2018 Popular Post Posted October 1, 2018 This was a single stick picked up at a B&M, rested 7.5 months at 62% rh. Ambient rh is 77% at 24 C. This was my first ever coro. Construction: looks very well made, beautiful band. Prelight: used my cheap v cutter. The draw is perfect. The foot smells of sweet sourdough and some spice. The body is barnyard. Cold draw - tobacco and sweetness. I lit it with a single torch slowly toasting it, and enjoying the aroma of the smoke. 1st: initial draws - smooth spicy and subtle sweetness, with nice smoke aroma. Dry cedar and twang, spicy. Good start. I can somehow tell this is going to be good. Nice deep flavor developing here: earth, lemongrass, grass, hay. Flavor is increasing. A nutty flavor comes in with spice. Nice subtle sweetness throughout. Retro has a bready note. 2nd: medium to full bodied now with increased smoke output. Nutty rich flavor, spicy, bready, and earth, coffee flavor is black and unsweetened. Nice transitions. Milk chocolate coffee now, tasty, earth and nuts and spice, this is complex. Woody towards end of 2nd third. Construction is great. 3rd: medium to full bodied, nutty, woody, pepper and spice, deep earth and unsweetened coffee. At no point throughout was this harsh. Towards the end, I’m getting a kick of vitamin N. And this is where I end the smoke. Conclusion: What a beautiful journey. This is a smoke to sit back, sip, and enjoy. It is complex, with interchanging flavors and transitions. Very enjoyable and impressive. Score: 92 5
CrisCris Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 Enjoyed your review. ?? I’m beginning to conclude I tend to enjoy Cohiba more young (1-3 yrs) than aged.
