Popular Post Cayman17 Posted September 22, 2018 Popular Post Posted September 22, 2018 I am not sure of the date code, as this was part of a three-pack carton purchased in May of this year while on vacation in Grand Cayman. It has been stored in the tube in the coolerdor since my return home. I assume it was rolled in late 2017 or early 2018, as every box of Mag 46 on the island seemed to be in that date range. The cigar smelled fantastic out of the tube, and was firm to the touch. The draw was quite firm on this cigar, and though it burned rather evenly, there was not a lot of smoke output, at least initially. For the first half of the cigar, the dominant flavor was cream with a woody undertone. However, the retrohale brought a wonderful light spice flavor, every time. Approximately one-half inch from the band, a pleasant spice note emerged and remained until I put the cigar down with about an inch left. I took this as a sign that the remaining cigars from the three pack (and the many HQ boxes sourced after it was purchased) will benefit from additional rest and hopefully exhibit more of the spice that built towards the end. 5
