Popular Post RDB Posted September 22, 2018 Popular Post Posted September 22, 2018 Hmm. The wrapper on this looked pretty grim. Quite thick, and prominently veiny. No obvious lumps, and the draw was fine. But this didn’t smoke great. That wrapper kept on causing problems, as the thick outer edge burned more slowly than the rest of the cigar. Cue lighter repairs. The classic mild Siglo entry, with the first half inch grassy and light. Strength of flavour built through the cigar, with a definite transition into the last third, which was much the best. But no great complexity at any point: mild cedar, almost-dried grass, a bit of vegetal green bell pepper, eventually some spicy pepper. About 1hr 20 up to the final inch and a half, at which point I gave up the fight. Not what I want from a ‘premium product’. Lesson learned: either check all sticks personally, or buy from someone who does that for you… 5
