Popular Post Corylax18 Posted May 12, 2018 Popular Post Posted May 12, 2018 The RyJ TPC was a Handmade Fransiscanos size cigar (40x116) discontinued in 2006, so this box comes from somewhere near the end of the run. After this stick I only have 4 left from the dress box. The best word to describe the box so far has been, variable. Some have been perfect; sweet, fruity, musky, well constructed. Others have been garbage; under/over filled, bitter, underfermented/vegetal. Even a few right down the middle. I picked these up about 3 or 4 years ago, so I can only speak to their development over that time period, not the last 12+ years. First few puffs are bitter and vegetal. Draw is wide open, burn is fast, but sharp. No touchups needed. Every puff generates lots of thick, creamy smoke. No double puffing needed. Medium Bodied, just under at some points. Bitter aftertaste on the palette early, but this goes away in the 2nd third. Sweet fruitiness to start. Musky. Creamy Chocolate comes in half way through, joined by some cinnamon. Flavors and consistency pickup as the cigar progresses. Muskiness cedes. The creamy/chocolate flavor dominates the second half of the cigar, as the fruit/sweetness falls to the periphery. The cigar only took me about 25 min to smoke, most from the box have been closer to 35, but as I mentioned earlier, this one had a very easy draw and was just a bit underfilled. Its hard for me to speak to the development/gains from aging as the cigars have been so up and down over throughout the box. But, if I had a box of this blend at its best in a corona or lonsdale size I would love it. 9
