heftytome Posted January 2, 2018 Posted January 2, 2018 A kindly person on Reddit has offered to give me his cubans from a recent trip being that he doesn't smoke them regularly. That being said, he has kept them in his fruit compartment of his fridge. Are these a total loss or do they have potential to be restored? Thanks for any advice!
mkalink Posted January 2, 2018 Posted January 2, 2018 Yes, just put the in your humidor and maintain the proper humidity. I keep mine @ 68% and the temperature @65 degrees F. They should be fine in 4 to 6 weeks.
stogieluver Posted January 2, 2018 Posted January 2, 2018 Not sure I would follow that advice, but whatever you end up doing, they need to go into the freezer for a couple of days (search this forum for detailed instructions on freezing) to kill any beetles they may carry into your humidor. Other advice would be hard to give based on the limited info provided. How long were they in his fridge? Were they stored in plastic bags, containers, nothing? How do they feel to the touch? Soft and springy? Crunchy and dry? That will tell you a lot about their condition. Did he tell you where he bought them in Cuba? They could easily be fakes, and you could be smoking dog hair.. 1
OB1 Posted January 2, 2018 Posted January 2, 2018 Depends on what type of fruit was in there with them. 1
