12 days of Christmas: Montecristo Petit Edmundo – SGA DIC 16

Really excited to start tasting the contents of this wonderful sampler. I have yet to try many of the sticks inside, however I am very familiar with the Monte PE.

 

Wife came home we decided to take the pups for a walk before the cold really sets in. Going to be in the 20's tonight, yikes.

 

I used a v cut, and the draw is perfect. If I had done a full size cut it may have had too much draw.

 

Initial lighting and it's the best Monte PE I've had, including the dark and oily psp batch from a few weeks back(they just need down time )

 

Wow, it only gets better and better. The chocolate has kicked in big time after hitting the halfway point. There was a little slow burn on a section, but it evened itself out with no touch up required.

 

Got back to the house and poured a glass of basil haydens bourbon. Great pairing!

 

All I can say is WOW, I wish all my Monte PE were as good as this one. The few weeks down time in the humidor really paid off. Thanks to Rob for providing such a fantastic sampler!

I'm a big fan of the Petit Edmundos. Quintessentially Cuban flavor bombs. Just wish they were longer. I haven't had the standard or double versions, but I hear they're quite different.

This one was hands down better than all the others I've tried. It had more of a robust and intense flavor. Possibly because the draw was perfect. I've had many that were a touch too tight.

Nice review, sounds quite nice. I’m at the tail end of a box of Edmundos, most of which have been quite memorable. Never had a PE, looking forward to the comparison.

I have not had that many edmundo, but the petit version has packed more flavor in my experience.

The double smokes nothing like it's shorter siblings. I've found it to be rather bland and nothing to write home about. With good time down and all things being equal, I think this franchise exhibits the most flavor in its shortest format. 

Btw Kyle @prodigy, great review. I'm jelly of those super dark ones a few of you guys got in on. Brent @havanaclub got in on those too and reviewed it, as I recall. I'm sure those things will age beautifully.

You're a better man than most. I hope your friends know what they're being handed. Part of the fun in our hobby is sharing stix and watching other's reactions as they're wowed or floored by a stick we enjoyed too. Enjoy the rest of those bad boys. They look amazing!

Yep those ones are awesome. Smoked one rott a few weeks ago. They will age very well.

I decided to have one tonight after not having one since winter. I just don't reach for them very often because of the size. But damn, these things are good. Maybe I just need to smoke 2 of them back-to-back and pretend it's a double corona?
