Islandboy Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 I’m 3/4 through this box that just turned 5 last month, and all sticks so far have produced near-perfect burns and very pleasant but short of spectacular results. A solid cigar for sure, but not highly complex. This is my first stick since they crossed over the 5 year mark. This fine example starts with the usual prime suspect I’ve tasted from stick one. Let me just say this was one of the first boxes of CC’s I acquired, therefore it’s one of the first FOH video reviews I watched. Ken, of course, mocked him, but the Prez’s assessment of "salted driftwood" has been spot on - and an element of taste I never would have come up with on my own. It’s also been quite unique to this cigar IMHO. Of course driftwood, by default, will be salted I’m guessing. Never picked a stick off the beach and licked it, nor will I ever, so the mystique shall live on in the PSB alone. But this cigar is no doubt a bit salty, and woody. Pleasantly so. Other notables in the first third include coffee, a nice citrus zing, and a delicious, long milk chocolate finish (milk chocolate-covered driftwood anyone?) The 2nd third brings on an increase in smoothness. The citrus is still there, but fading into the background. And the coffee/milk chocolate moves nicely into a full-blown mocha latte finish, with the sweetness still being outdone by the driftwood base, but building. Nice. The pleasant mixture of flavors continue into the last 3rd, with the sweetness ramping up just a bit, bringing in a slight burnt caramel element. The citrus fades further. Consistently pleasant is how I would sum up the Sancho Panza Belicoso. A solid go-to cigar when I don’t feel like being too adventurous. And one the few cigars I’ve found that pairs well with a glass of Pinot Noir. Aloha!, Brad 4
Luca Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 I may have to get more acquainted with the salted driftwood taste. Ill have to taste some on the beach one day haha. Good review and I love caramel/burnt caramel notes. A cigar that will definately be on my to smoke list in the near future!Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Danimalia Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 I haven't had one of these yet, but they sound quite nice. I'd never noticed saltiness in a cigar until Rob and others started mentioning it about this specific marca. Now I find it every once in a while, and I like it! Great review!
Sean3 Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 I've picked up saltiness in some RASS's in the past and really enjoyed it when that Cuban twang mingles along with it. Nice review.
